Created in response to the growing commodification of the eyewear industry in the Mid 90’s, Matheson Eyewear was born in the fall of 1996. Since the beginning our story has been centred around opticianry, with a focus on frame/lens quality and proper eyewear craftsmanship. Keeping the traditional practice alive. We believe in the power of person-to-person interaction because in this way, people can help each other see the world in better and beautiful perspectives.
Licensed Opticians
You may ask, What is a licensed Optician, and why may I need a licensed Optician? Licensed Opticians are eyecare professionals that are Nationally & Provincially certified eyecare providers via the Opticians Association of Canada and the Board of Dispensing Opticians of Prince Edward Island (under the Dispensing Opticians Act of 1974). Licensed Opticians help eyeglasses wearers ensure proper fit/prescription adherence, perform simple & complex maintenance/repairs, and help educate the public on all things eyewear! Think of a licensed optician as your own personal guide along your eyeglass wearing experience.
